CENTRAL WISCONSIN – The Sustainable Business Council (SBC) is reminding businesses and sustainability leaders across Wisconsin and the Upper Midwest that there is still time to submit nominations for the 2026 Sustainable Business Awards, with nominations closing on August 14.
Sustainability work takes persistence, creativity and often courage, especially when progress feels hard, complex and slow. The Sustainable Business Awards recognize the businesses, teams, products, services and individuals who continue to move sustainability integration forward while creating measurable impact.
The annual awards celebrate organizations and leaders who are integrating sustainability into core business strategy, demonstrating how environmental and social initiatives can drive innovation, improve performance, reduce risk, attract talent, strengthen stakeholder trust and create long-term value. These leaders are proving that sustainability is not only good for communities and the environment, but also a powerful driver of business success and competitive advantage.

2026 Award Categories

• Sustainable Product of the Year: Celebrating product design that delivers environmental and social benefits.

• Innovative Service of the Year: Honoring services that accelerate ESG integration across industries.
• Sustainable Leadership Awards: Recognizing Executive Leaders and Sustainability Champions who are advancing sustainability within their organizations and communities.
• Thomas L. Eggert Leadership Forward Award: Honoring individuals who expand sustainability networks, foster collaboration and advance sustainability knowledge throughout Wisconsin.
Winning organizations and individuals gain recognition as leaders in sustainable business, elevating their reputation, inspiring peers, attracting new opportunities and showcasing how sustainability creates business value. From driving innovation and operational efficiencies to strengthening customer relationships, employee engagement, risk management and long-term resilience, award recipients demonstrate that sustainability can be a powerful source of competitive advantage.
Award recipients will be recognized during the 2026 Sustainable Business Council Conference, taking place November 17–18 in Madison, and will be featured throughout SBC communications, publications and promotional channels.
“These awards provide an opportunity to celebrate the people and organizations turning commitment into action,” said Jessy Servi Ortiz, executive director of the Sustainable Business Council. “Their leadership not only drives meaningful change within their organizations but also demonstrates that sustainability can create tangible business value. By recognizing these achievements, we help showcase the innovative strategies and measurable results that are strengthening organizations and communities across our region.”
