WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Adam Kaup, a human performance major from Wisconsin Rapids and graduate of Lincoln High School, will compete for the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men’s soccer team during the 2025 season, which begins Thursday, Sept. 4.
UW-Whitewater was selected to finish fourth in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in a preseason poll of the conference’s head coaches and sports information directors.
Head coach Tony Guinn enters his 15th season at the helm of the program with a total record of 153-62-31. Guinn is 11 wins away from tying the Warhawk record for coaching wins, currently held by Greg Henschel with 164.
A season ago, Guinn and the Warhawks tallied a 10-7-4 record, falling in the WIAC Tournament semifinals to the top-seeded UW-Eau Claire.

The 2025 squad retains more than 60% of its scoring production from last year’s team. Leading scorers James Kiraly (Twin Lakes, Wis./Wilmot Union) and Aidian Martin (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Menomonee Falls) both will suit up for their second year with the squad. Kiraly (eight goals, one assist) and Martin (five goals, seven assists) led the team in scoring with 17 points each, collecting First Team All-Conference recognition a season ago. Cooper Re (Kimberly, Wis./Kimberly), also a First Team All-Conference selection, brings back his scoring after ranking third on the team with 12 points (four goals, four assists).
All-Region defender Hayden Saul (Iowa City, Iowa/Liberty) will return to help the backline. He will be joined by a strong defensive core of Zeke Healy (Mukwonago, Wis./Mukwonago), Adam Kaup (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis./Lincoln) and Matt White (Bangor, Northern Ireland/Bangor Grammar), with a combined 169 caps among the four.
The Warhawks open their season a three-game road stretch, starting with Webster University on Sept. 4. The home opener is set for Saturday, Sept. 13 against Augsburg at 1 p.m. The Warhawks will open WIAC play against UW-Stevens Point on Oct. 4.
