MARSHFIELD – Turning paper into something powerful, Prevail Bank’s Community Shred Day in Marshfield raised $1,105 for the Children’s Miracle Network, helping to make sure every child receives the best possible medical care in the area.
Prevail Bank pledged to donate $1 for every pound of paper shredded, up to $1,000, and the community rose to the challenge, bringing 1,968 pounds of documents to be safely destroyed and recycled. True to its pledge, Prevail Bank gifted $1,000; the public donated an additional $105.
A check presentation was held at Prevail Bank’s Marshfield branch, with Taylor Hahn, Children’s Miracle Network Hospital’s program manager, accepting the donation.
“This event was a win-win,” said Tammy Schueller, Prevail Bank’s branch manager. “We helped people protect their personal information while supporting a cause that makes a real difference right here in our community.”
This year, Prevail Bank’s nine Community Shred Day events collected and shredded nearly 9 tons of paper, resulting in $11,387 in donations to nine nonprofits.
