WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Wisconsin Rapids Kiwanis Club’s annual “Your Charity” Golf Outing continues to make a significant impact on the community, with this year’s event raising and distributing more than $26,000 to local nonprofit organizations.
The outing was first launched in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, when nearly half of nonprofits nationwide were forced to close due to fundraising challenges. The Kiwanis Club created the event as a way to sustain area charities and ensure they could continue providing services to those in need.
The structure of the outing allows both hole sponsors and participating teams to designate a local charity as their beneficiary. Proceeds from sponsorships and registration fees are distributed among these organizations, with additional opportunities for golfers to secure bonus funds through hole contests, overall placement, skins competitions and random drawings.
Over the past five years, the outing has generated nearly $60,000 in donations for area charities. This year proved to be particularly successful, with participation and sponsorship both increasing by roughly 20%. The result was an initial $13,075 in donations to selected charities, with individual contributions ranging from $725 to $1,450.
The impact did not stop there. Following the event, an anonymous donor stepped forward, pledging to match the entire amount raised. The contribution doubled the total to $26,150, providing an even greater boost to local nonprofits.
Community members and organizations expressed gratitude to the sponsors, golfers and the anonymous benefactor who made this year’s outing the most successful to date.
Those interested in supporting next year’s event, held at The Ridges Golf Course on Mon, Aug. 10, 2026 — either through sponsorship, team registration or Kiwanis membership — can contact the Wisconsin Rapids Kiwanis Club at events@wrkiwanis.org or visit the club’s Facebook page.
