United Way campaign kicks off

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – United Way of South Wood and Adams Counties has begun its 2026 campaign as of Sept. 1. Donations to the campaign will help support 27 partner programs, 10 initiatives and three coalitions around south Wood and Adams Counties.
United Way aims to create lasting change in four impact areas: healthy community, youth opportunity, financial security and community resiliency. Collectively, the programs, initiatives and coalitions funded by the campaign impact tens of thousands of people. According to the organization, one out of every four people living in the area benefit from the services of United Way of South Wood and Adams Counties.
$1,000 sweepstakes
Donate $1 per week or $52 per year for 50 chances to win one of six $1,000 cash prizes; increase a prior donation of $52 or more by $26 or more and double your chances to 100.
The deadline to qualify for the sweepstakes is Friday, Nov. 20. Visit uwswac.org for the official sweepstakes rules.

Ways to get involved
There are many ways to get involved this year:
• Participate in a workplace campaign or start the first campaign.
• Make an online donation.
• Make a donation in memory of or in the name of a loved one.
• Eat breakfast, lunch and dinner during United Way Day at McDonald’s on Wednesday, Sept. 16 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. (at the Wisconsin Rapids McDonald’s restaurant).
• Volunteer during the annual raking event Day of Caring on Saturday, October 24.
• Follow United Way of South Wood and Adams Counties on Facebook to stay in the loop on all the great work United Way is doing right here in the community.
