WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Wisconsin Rapids DECA students participated in a two-day leadership development conference in Madison last month.
The Chapter Opportunity Workshop took place July 27-28, according to Wisconsin Rapids Public Schools.
Students engaged in team-building activities, strategic planning and leadership development exercises during the conference.
DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. The organization has more than 225,000 members in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Canada, China, Germany, Mexico, Poland and Puerto Rico.
The Madison workshop is designed to help local DECA chapters plan for the upcoming school year and develop student leadership skills.
Wisconsin Rapids Public Schools said the students returned “with energy, ideas, and a strong sense of purpose” for the new academic year.
