PLOVER – Portage County Emergency Service Agencies and Mark Toyota of Plover will host their annual Safety Fair on Saturday, May 16. This free, fun and educational event is held rain or shine from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Mark Toyota in the Village Park of Plover.
The fair takes place between National Police Week, observed May 10–16, and National EMS Week, which runs May 17–23. A wide variety of activities are planned, and people of all ages are encouraged to attend this community-focused gathering.
Numerous agencies will be participating in the Safety Fair, which will focus on safety and emergency preparedness for all ages. Interactive events are planned for the day, including child fingerprinting, live fire demonstrations and emergency vehicle displays. Attendees can also witness K9 demonstrations, explore a fire safety house and learn life-saving skills through hands-only CPR training.
In addition, a motorcycle safety simulator will be available. The event will also offer raffle prizes, free car seat checks and free blood pressure and diabetes testing.
To support local youth, food and drinks will be available for purchase throughout the event from the Boys and Girls Club.
