WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA) invites community members to attend an “Energy in Your Township” educational presentation on Thursday, April 30 from 5:30-7 p.m. at B’s Tap House at Two Doors Down Brewing Co. (140 E. Grand Ave., Wisconsin Rapids).
This free educational event will address the proposed data center in Wisconsin Rapids, share information on how the electric grid works and how it impacts residents as well as provide resources for residents to make informed decisions about the future of energy in their community. Participants will hear from MREA renewable energy experts, who will provide clear, credible information and answer questions about the viability of solar, local impacts and the future of clean energy in the region.
As conversations around renewable energy continue to grow in communities across Wisconsin, MREA’s Energy in Your Township presentations aim to foster open dialogue by creating space for residents to ask questions, share concerns, and gain access to the latest facts, data, and insights.
“For the last 100 years, most people in the US could ignore the details of their energy bills and avoid energy policy without much immediate impact on their lives,” said Nick Hylla, MREA executive director. “Those times are over. These events are meant to help people get informed and make sound decisions for themselves and the places they live.”
Complimentary pizza and soft drinks will be provided, with beer available for purchase. Community members are encouraged to RSVP in advance to attend. A pre-recorded webinar is also available for those unable to attend in-person at www.youtu.be/avLUbYYGxDs?si=HAYfhjLiAPW_gWq9.
