Local chiropractor shares research at international conference

Posted

PLOVER – Leo Powers a Doctor of Chiropractic from Plover, shared a case study at the International Chiropractic Cranial Conference in Orlando, Florida, in late 2025. His research showed how chiropractic care helped fix a patient’s uneven bite.
The treatment focused on stretching lower body muscles, including the hip, and then making adjustments to connected muscles in the head and jaw. This care improved how the tongue works during swallowing and widened the roof of the mouth so the teeth lined up properly. Powers noted that this type of treatment needs to be performed before puberty, while bones and muscles are still growing and forming.
The patient had seen Powers occasionally since age two for allergies, common aches and leg adjustments that improved balance. In spring 2024, when the patient was 11, Powers began targeted hip muscle treatment that gradually shifted the bite back into place. Within a few months, the patient’s bite was back to normal.
Powers works at Powers Chiropractic in Plover and can be reached at (715) 341-7102.
