NEILLSVILLE – The Highground will host its 41st annual Heroes Ride Aug. 1-3, continuing Wisconsin’s largest cycling fundraiser dedicated to supporting veterans and their families.
The event brings together more than 100 riders from four multi-day routes across the state, all converging at The Highground Veterans Memorial Park in Neillsville. Each route is led by experienced guides and support personnel.
The 2025 routes include:
• Northern: Three-day tour starting in Hayward, traveling through Ladysmith and Thorp before finishing at The Highground
• Western: Three-day tour beginning in New Richmond, proceeding through Menomonie and Osseo
• Eastern: Three-day tour starting in Appleton, passing through King and Marshfield
• Southwestern: Two-day journey from La Crosse through Black River Falls
The Southern Route, which previously started near Cottage Grove, has been canceled for 2025. The Highground is seeking volunteers to lead the route next year.
The Heroes Ride serves as the primary annual fundraiser for The Highground, formerly known as The Highground Annual Bike Tour. The organization provides post-traumatic stress programs, veterans retreats and healing resources for veterans and their families affected by military service.
