WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Two major road construction projects in Wisconsin Rapids are advancing this week, with concrete work completed on one street and underground utilities progressing on another.
Concrete crews finished pouring on Plover Street between 1st Street North and Apricot Street on Tuesday, July 8, according to the city’s Public Works Division. The street remains closed in that section, with paving potentially scheduled for late next week pending asphalt contractor availability.
On 14th Avenue North, crews completed storm sewer installation between High Street and Fremont Street earlier this week. The project’s second phase from West Grand Avenue to High Street began Wednesday with pavement removal activities. Sanitary sewer replacement will begin next week at West Grand Avenue.
The 14th Avenue project currently has West Grand Avenue to Fremont Street closed to traffic.
Both projects are part of the city’s ongoing infrastructure improvement efforts. Updates and road closure notifications are available at wirapids.org/construction-projects.html.
