WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Weight lifters will gather at Anchor Bay Bar & Grill on June 14 to compete in a bench press meet for Back the Badge.
There will be various weight classes for men and women, as well as teen, adult and masters divisions, depending on age. Trophies will be awarded to the Top 3 finishers. Best lifters will be decided by who bench presses the most pounds over their body weight.
The event starts at 11 a.m., with all proceeds going to purchase equipment for the Special Response Team and the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Memorial. There also will be basket and gun raffles, and a band following the competition.
The event is sponsored by the Wood County Sheriff’s Department; for more information, contact Sheriff Shawn Becker at: shawn.becker@woodcountywi.gov
