Alexander House to present new exhibit: “Seeking An Upward Thermal”

Posted

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Birds seek rising pockets of warming air, soaring upwards on the current. These thermals lift and support flight. Like these avian aerialists, we seek our own upward thermal.
Three women artists — Roberta Condon (pastel paintings), Lorraine Ortner-Blake (gouache paintings) and Debra Grall (beaded sculpture) — present more than 50 works exploring this theme through their distinctive mediums. A multisensory experience fills space with sound and color. Artworks link to digital bird calls.
The opening reception is on Friday, March 27, from 5-8 p.m. at The Alexander House Center for Art and History. Enjoy light refreshments, meet the artists and experience their work in a warm and welcoming gallery/house setting. Exhibition on view through May 5. On the final day of the exhibition, the center will hold an artist talk at 1:30 p.m. Each artist will share a 15-minute presentation about their work, followed by time for questions and conversation.
