Mid-State to Shed Light on Human Trafficking in Wisconsin
City Times Staff
Human trafficking continues to rise in Wisconsin.
According to an October 2015 announcement by the Milwaukee FBI office, a total of 149 underage victims were recovered, with 153 pimps arrested across Wisconsin. A presentation will be hosted at Mid-State at all campuses to shed light on the reality of sexual exploitation and slavery in Wisconsin.
Lisa Sennholz, founder and director of Damascus Road, will be hosting multiple presentations on the very real and local dangers of human trafficking on Monday, Jan. 30. The first presentation will be at 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on the Wisconsin Rapids campus, inside the auditorium.
Stevens Point’s presentation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. inside CER 634/635. Marshfield is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in room 126.
The presentation will go into what you can do to make a difference in this very real issue. The presentation is sponsored by the Mid-State Diversity Committee. There is no cost for admission.
