The South Wood County Humane Society received permission from the City of Wisconsin Rapids yesterday to hold their annual snow sculpture event next year.
The Humane Society made a special events application for their “Souper Snow Sculpture Spectacular” which is due to take place on January 25, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the parking lot of the Centralia Center. The City’s Finance & Property Committee passed the application.
The competition, which raises money for the operation of the Humane Society usually has around 18 sculpture teams, which is more than the state and national snow sculpture competitions held in 2013.
The same day, Humane Society Executive Director Bridget Chariton put out an email appeal asking for teams to take part in the event. When application forms are available online, the City-Times will pass on the information to readers.
